My husband posted up on the wall some reminders that – although it doesn’t necessarily feel like it right now – this pandemic will make us better.
I believe this pandemic will make us better, and stronger.
We were sitting around the dinner table last night, and I said – what’s one word that you’d use to describe the last week?
My kids said things like… “weird” and “boring” and the totally typical “I don’t know.” 🙂
My husband said “paradoxical” –
Never has he been so forced to slow down; and never has he felt this rush to do do do.
We are finding time to meditate together, moments of quiet and rest – and we are also under enormous stress.
We have had more social connections in the past week than we’ve had in the last two months…they are just happening virtually….
Connected and yet disconnected
together – and yet apart
focused and yet so overwhelmed by the world
hopeful about possibilities and yet…afraid.
I am feeling it all, I promise you.
And I know many of you are, too.
Here’s what I want you to know:
Your voice is still needed.
Your message matters, now more than ever.
Your audience still needs you.
And you can do this…
Not only will you get through – but we are going to discover new ways of connection, creation and impact BECAUSE of this.
Not that I’m glad it’s happening, but it is happening. And we are going to focus on loving up our audience – being there WITH THEM and FOR THEM – and we’re going to embrace a new way of connecting and serving.
Tomorrow I’ll be sharing 5 simple tips for your video messages so that you an confidently embrace that art form…. live events will never go away, they’re too special, and I think we’ll learn to appreciate them even more. But this is also a time when we’ll all learn and realize the power of virtual events. They will not go away, either. They may grow and become more popular after this… they are more economical, more viral, faster and easier to pull off and engage people from all over the world…. so these skills are not just about serving you NOW – they are about building on your skills for the future.
